Williamson Youth Track Club (WYTC) was established in 2006 by Gary Gosch, an avid running and track enthusiast, who noticed the need for such a club in the area. "Running is such a natural thing for all youth boys and girls to want to do that I couldn't believe there wasn't a real youth track club in Williamson County at the time," Gosch said, "so I decided to start one."
The club started with 11 members and had one national qualifier in its first year. The second year we had almost 60 members with 11 individuals and two relay teams making it to nationals. In the third year the track club grew to over 100 members on our roster with 44 members competing competitively, 16 national qualifiers, and 1 silver medalist who almost set a national record in the high jump. The 4th year we continued with over 100 members on our roster for both track and field and cross country with close to 80 athletes competing competitively. In the fifth year our club placed 1st overall in several invitational, state, and association track meets, as well as, produced over 37 national qualifiers in track and field, 5 All-Americans (athletes have to be in the top 8 of their age group in the nation) in both track and field and cross country, and have up to 15 athletes on the National Honor Roll (athletes have to be in the top 100 of their age group in the nation). In the 5th year we also claimed 3 national medals-1 sliver and 2 bronze in high jump and the pentathlon. Last year we had 45 national qualifiers in over 88 events, 8 national medalist, 8 National All Americans, over half of our athletes including cross country and track and field are on the National Honor roll, we were the topped ranked track club in our region for Tennessee in AAU, the premier track club in the Middle Tennessee area, we are also one of the largest track clubs in Tennessee that participates in competitive youth track and field.
We offer our youth fun, long lasting friendships, dedication along with proper training and guidance in order to make an athlete a better runner and competitor. We also offer collegiate preparation as well as local, state, and National exposure.
The club competes in both AAU and USATF meets and local races.
